Officer's Day Worship Service

We thank God for Mt. Olive's officers and the support they provide on a regular basis in the church as well as in the community. Plan now to come out on Sunday, May 21st at the 11 a.m. worship service where we will recognize these mighty women and men of God.  Rev. Dr. Lloyd T. McGriff, Senior Pastor of Galilee Baptist Church in Suitland, Maryland and Southeast Washington, DC will bring the Word.

Senior Appreciation Day

The Elderlites Ministry is inviting all seniors to our Senior Appreciation Day on Saturday May 20th in Fellowship Hall. The celebration will begin at 11:30 a.m. and will include lunch and a short program. This year’s theme “Age Out Loud” reflects what today’s older adults have to say about aging and with the spotlight on you; we are asking seniors to participate in a fashion show, featuring styles from the 1960s, 70s, and 80s. All seniors are asked to stop by the Welcome Center following today’s services to sign up for this wonderful celebration!

Casual Attire

The unofficial arrival of summer signals the beginning of casual summer at Mt. Olive.  On Sunday, May 28th casual summer attire begins and will continue through Labor Day.  Everyone is welcome to dress comfortably for the weather during the summer!

Youth Impact Weekend

Mt. Olive's Youth Impact Weekend is coming and all youth are invited! Our theme is "Determined & Rising to the Challenge" with the supporting scripture of Esther 4:15-16. Activities will take place June 9th to June 11th and will include a Praise & Worship Service followed by fun filled activities on Friday evening; a mission outing on Saturday; and ending with an exciting guest preacher for Youth Day service. All activities are FREE and registration is required. More detailed information will be shared soon.

Youth Service Change

Coming this Fall; the Youth Department will move youth services to a new Sunday so it will not conflict with the many church-wide celebrations which take place on 4th Sundays. As a trial run, the youth service will be held on the 3rd Sunday in May rather than the 4th Sunday. With the Memorial Day Holiday coming on the 4th Sunday, May is the perfect time to test the new date. If your child has not experienced our Youth and Children’s Services, please join us on May 21st at 11 a.m.! We have services for every age!

2017 Vacation Bible School

"Super God! Super Me! Super Possibility!" Join us July 16th to July 21st as we learn that there is no greater strength than God's superpower within us. We need lesson leaders, coordinators for registration, snacks, decorations, and programs and special activity leaders. Church officials (including ministry leaders) will sometimes use this information to occasionally outreach to you and to notify you of selected church activities, cancellations of events, road/street closures, and other relevant information. If you do not have access to the internet, please stop by the church office to get a form to complete. Thank you for your participation!
