Spiritual Growth
The mission of the Christian Education Ministry is to:
Promote God-centered learning and understanding which will provide a solid foundation in the Christian faith;
Facilitate Christian formation through age-appropriate educational opportunities; and
Provide the larger goal of personal growth and development.
The ministries which work toward these ends are:
Bible Study – Offering topical and biblical studies for adults on a weekly basis. Bible Study is available on Wednesday evening at 7:00 p.m. via all Mount Olive Baptist Church Social Media platforms. (Facebook Live, YouTube, Livestreaming from the church website)
Sunday School – held weekly following the 9:30 a.m. worship service. Our adult classes are held in a hybrid format; in-person and via Zoom. Our youth classes are held in person beginning at 9:30 a.m. along with our Youth Worship Service. Sunday School provides biblical and topical studies for Kindergarten through Adult
New Members Ministry - Seeks to help new members to become acclimated to Mt Olive and to find their place in this ministry. New Member Classes are available on 2nd – 4th Sundays at 9:30 a.m. for those new to the Christian faith, the Baptist denomination or to the Mt Olive Church family.
Vacation Bible School (VBS) – This annual week long intensive is designed to teach biblical principles in a fun interactive setting. VBS includes teaching, crafts, music and classes offered during the evenings with dinner so that the entire family can participate.
Nursery – Gives care and nurture during worship services and other church events to infants through pre-kindergarten children. Specially trained staff teach biblical principles using age-appropriate resources while assuring the safety of our youngest members.
Resource Library – Provides theologically sound resources and tools to assist members, clergy and guests of Mount Olive to grow in knowledge and wisdom as part of their faith journey.
Education Ministry – Promotes higher education by offering financial scholarships to high school graduating seniors and continuing college students who are attending institutions of higher education; developing college visits and organizing college fairs to inform students and parents of opportunities for higher education; and Promoting excellence in education through the quarterly Pastor’s Honor Roll and annual Graduation Recognition services.
