Worship & Creative Arts
The mission of the Worship and Arts Ministry is to:
Create an atmosphere of worship which assists congregants in realizing an experience with God during corporate worship.
Utilize varied artistic format to help the gospel message permeate the hearts, mind and souls of the church; and
Bring excellence into the execution of worship.
The ministries which work toward these ends are:
Choral Ministries – Offering a blended music program which include hymns, anthems, gospels and contemporary Christian music to assist in all worship services. Weekly rehearsals are held to prepare choirs to support the thrust of the weekly message. Current Choirs include:
- Little Levite Choir (ages 4-11)
- Levite Crew (12- 18)
- Youth and Young Adult (age 18-39)
- Kingdom Mass Choir
- Men of Valor (Male Chorus)
- Women of Worship (Women’s Choir)
Multi-Media Ministry – Provides audio/visual support during worship services, to include recording, sound engineering, video presentations and live streaming of Sunday morning worship services. This ministry also delivers edited versions of the Sunday service for use on iTunes, the Church YouTube channel and the weekly radio ministry on WAVA 105.1. Volunteers are used in all of these areas and training is provided for those interested in learning how to be 21st century scribes for God’s kingdom on earth.
Grace in Motion Dance Ministry - Seeks to enhance the worship experience through the use of liturgical dance. Performances are delivered on Sunday mornings and during other worship services. Dance ministry uses all musical genres to spread the message through choreographed performance. Ministry is divided into age specific groups and is open to men and women. Weekly rehearsals help dancers to perfect technique as well as to learn how dance can serve as ministry.
Drama Ministry – Through the use of plays and musicals, the Drama ministry lifts up important moments in the life of the church and in the biblical narrative. Special productions are created for Christmas, Easter, and other dates in the liturgical calendar. Actors, dancers, singers and crafts persons use their talents to tell the old story to a new generation through the arts.
