Mount Olive Baptist Church is looking for a Youth Minister to join our team and lead our youth ministry program.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with young people and a desire to make a positive impact in their lives. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and leading engaging activities, organizing special events, and providing spiritual guidance to our youth. We are looking for someone who is organized, patient, and has excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and lead youth programs and activities for ages up to 18.
  • Provide spiritual guidance and counseling to youth.
  • Design, organize and lead worship services for youth.
  • Provide instruction and teaching in accordance with Christian faith and Baptist Heritage
  • Develop relationships with youth and their families.
  • Work with volunteers to provide mentorship and support.
  • Organize special events for youth.
  • Develop and implement strategies to engage youth in the church community.
  • Be actively engaged in reaching new youth and developing relationships with those inside and outside of the Mount Olive church family to make a positive difference in the lives of young people.

Qualifications, Experience and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited educational institution.
  • Master of Divinity degree from an Association of Theological Schools of North America (ATS) accredited institution preferred or currently enrolled in a Master of Divinity degree program at an ATS accredited institution.
  • Familiarity with and knowledge of the Christian faith and Baptist heritage
  • A licensed and/or ordained minister is preferred.
  • A minimum of three years of experience working with youth in a ministry or other setting
  • Must have knowledge of and experience in utilizing social media and technology for connecting with children and youth to include social media posting, blogging, hybrid, or distance learning, etc.
  • Demonstrated strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated strong administrative skills and capable of working independently.
  • Demonstrated ability to teach Biblical principles at age-appropriate levels for children/youth up to 18 years of age.
  • Experience developing and executing children/youth worship services.
  • Experience working collaboratively with other ministries in worship planning and execution.
  • Must be accessible and authentic in caring for the children and youth of the church.
  • Demonstrated ability to build relations with youth, parents, ministerial staff, ministry heads, and community.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $45,000.00 – $50,000.00 per year

Expected hours: No less than 20 per week

Schedule: Weekends as needed

Experience: Youth Ministry: 3 years (Preferred)
